Something Spooky In the Neighbourhood…

We’ve all heard it before – back in those days when our parents lived in badly lit wooden  kampung houses – how their neighbour’s uncle’s father’s nephew’s friend’s house was haunted by a long-haired womanly ghost who had a piercing laugh & loved to scratch windows (or something scary  like that).

Yes, the long passed down story about Pontianaks, headless ghosts (or Penanggal), toyols (little impish creatures), are a very familiar scary story.

Even in today’s world, telling ghost stories are a must-have at chalets, camps, under void decks or just to scare each other silly.

If you’re like me & your imagination will run wild after hearing to these stories, then here’s one way to really get rid of that fear : Laugh at them!

How you skeptically ask? Just watch H is for Hantu!

This musical comedy is close to our already-scaredy-cat hearts because, well, they put our old school ghosts in a more frighteningly funny light!

From the vivacious diva Pontianak, to the gutsy Headless Ghost (Hantu Penanggalan), it’s bound to set your hearts pumping – in a good non-high-blood-pressure way!

The story revolves around Singapore’s last kampung & its plucky residents  & their mission to save their beloved kampung from being demolished. Along the way, they find themselves getting spooked instead.

What happens next? Watch it & see for yourself, lah!

Of course, in between this exciting story, you’ll plenty of the usual exciting traits of a musical comedy, delicious visuals injected with a little bit of interactivity that will definitely keep your senses entertained.

Wrapped all that with our forever kaypoh fascination with Singapore’s supernatural folklore combined with bits & pieces of the oldschool + new, H is for Hantu is definitely not your everyday ghost story.

It’s the second run for this very popular production – the first one was in 2009. Who knows when else they’ll run this again. All the more reasons to go & watch, yes?

It will definitely placate all your supernatural fears (at least, ‘till your next ghost story-telling session)! :)
