Here’s taking DIY to a whole fruity level!
The idea is simple – take a doll (old, new, forgotten, once loved, brutally abused, never used, stolen from your sister – any doll!), then chop off its head.
Then, take a fruit of choice (which really can be anything too!) & replace the head with the fruit. The final touch – decorate, add jewels, draw on the head, snip it off to make a shape – & there you have it: your own DIY fruity doll!
Sounds fun doesn’t it? Definitely a good way to reuse the dolls.
If this is right up your alley, then go go do your own fruity doll, submit & participate in The Fruity Show!
Organised by Red Dot Workshop, this one of a kind DIY art show invites art enthusiasts or any normal person for that matter, to contribute & display their art pieces. Take a picture of the doll, e-mail to Red Dot Workshop & see if yours is the one they want to display!
If you’re not keen on dolls, fret not! You can still show off your fruity side by submitting any fruity artwork (2d or 3d), poems, or anything kookily creatively related to fruits that you might have.
Deadline for submissions is on Friday, 30 September 2011.
