Facehunting The Facehunter At A Curious Teepee!

The Facehunter, well known street fashionista blogger who takes cool photographs of the fashion cats that he sees around him, dropped by to our humble shores  for a Book Signing + Q&A at A Curious Teepee last Thursday!

A Curious Teepee is not your conventional cafe/bar nor lifestyle store. The store features loads of quirky & nifty products – like a parent/child contract, hurhur! Quite apt that their soft launch is celebrated with Yvan Rodic (The Facehunter).

& Yes, if you didn’t know it already, he published a book that catalogues “fashion hungry” people that he meets anywhere & everywhere. There’s even 2 Singaporean cool  cats featured in his book!

Anyway, when he came into town recently, we sent our  two stylish amigos (who are fans of The Facehunter themselves ) to go check the event out! They came back with a glowing account of their 5 minutes with him & plenty of nice pictures! :)

(as told to SGTTDT by Shai&Marina in short sentences & pictures!)

(Here’s a little background information: Marina gave Shaister Facehunter’s book [aptly called FACEHUNTER] for his birthday months ago. They brought this same book for the book signing!)

A Curious Teepee was already packed with people when they came. They got into queue to meet Yvan & took quite a while, but no matter – they had plenty of things to occupy them. Like munching on some kooky snacks & looking at delicious products.  Oh, of course, they spotted Yvan Rodic too (looking absolutely chic, no less).

Shai on Queuing: “We had a good time queuing for Facehunter  because he was SO SO nice. He gave everyone who queued an honest conversation (we wondered why it took so long to get to him when the queue wasn’t really so long…)!”

When the duo meet Yvan Rodic: “So our moment with him went a little something like this:

He groused about having only an hour of sleep from the trip to Bali. We asked what awesome local food he tried and he was so excited to share with us about his trip to an unpretentious hawker centre feeling all at home with the locals having a bowl of noodles – what exactly he can’t remember but he loved the experience!

He was also amazed at our ethnicity.  (Don’t know why!)

‘So were we Malays? From Malaysia? No? Oh Singaporean Malays! So do you speak Malay to your parents? What languages do you speak?

People here speak so many languages!’ -  Hehe. What a riot.”

Shai&Marina’s parting shots: “Queue was long but waiting for a nice person made it worthwhile!” :)
