Free Movie Screening


The Best Bet

For July SFS China Square Central outdoor screenings, we continue our series of local movies with two comedies  directed by the most commercially successful local filmmaker Jack Neo and the debut feature of young local director Han Yew Kwang.

Admission: FREE!

Once again, we will be giving out free Kacang Puteh! Only limited to the first 200 packets, so come early to get your free snacks. This is …a rain or shine event. Screenings will be shifted indoors if we encounter bad weather.

About the Movie: The Best Bet revolves around Richard, Shun and Huang, three buddies who are obsessed with betting on 4D. Their friendships are put to the test when they struck the first prize and one of them decides to keep the winnings all to himself… A satirical comedy from Jack Neo, the film explores human weaknesses such as greed and deceipt, and ultimately the triumph of the human spirit.

ABOUT OOOM
Originals Only Open Mike, or OOOM for short, is a Singapore Art Cafe (SAC) initiative. It is a monthly music event usually held at venues around Singapore, and is possibly the first local open mike that features only original material.

Having experimented with various genres and bands, singer-songwriter Sarah Yap has settled in a comfortable musical space – In Finite Flight. Taking simple and honest music and combining it with heartfelt lyrics is her recipe for songs that speak of true emotion. Armed only with an acoustic guitar, Sarah is supported by a group of musician friends that share her musical direction and life journeys.

Sweet Delusion Music with Saint Loco & The Otherside Orchestra

Presenting the 1st ever Sweet Delusion Music (SDM). SDM aims to promote talented bands from all over the world which are not mainstream, rarely or never heard on Singapore airwaves.

This year, we’re bringing The Otherside Orchestra from Malaysia and Saint Loco from Indonesia.

About The Bands:
Saint Loco is a hard rock band based in Jakarta, Indonesia. With awards and overseas invitational shows including Macau in their hands, Saint Loco is ready to conquer Asia.

The Otherside Orchestra consists of consists of members Wan, Izwin, Haizal, Rasheed, Angah, Azan, Shah and honorary members Rifal, Batak, Faiz and Izzat, there’s definitely strength in numbers as far as OtherSide is concerned. With an album entitled Electromancetacy out, the band has been gigging non-stop and getting a lot of attention along the way.
