| One Leg Kicking
Starting from June until August 2010, the monthly SFS China Square outdoor screenings will be showcasing the work of contemporary local filmmakers. Sometimes, the filmmakers themselves will be present to share their experience in the post screening Q&A sessions. Admission: FREE Free Kacang Puteh! Only limited to the first 200 packets, so come early to get your free snacks. This is a rain or shine event. Screenings will be shifted indoors if we encounter bad weather. About One Leg Kicking: One Leg Kicking tells the story about a group of underdogs who form an amateur football team (THE DURIANS) to play in a fictional local league organized by a farsighted sponsor. The prize for the winners : a trip to the 2002 World Cup Finals. Gurmit Singh plays (TAI PO) the common man’s hero, raising his two young children single handedly after his wife passes away. | *SCAPE Confessions presents Quick Quick Danger’s ‘Love Electric’ EP Launch
*SCAPE hopes to establish Confessions as the benchmark programme for aspiring music talents to showcase their new works. With ‘Love Electric’ the goal was simple; to achieve the commercial sheen on a well crafted pop record as an independent band with no help from teams of songwriters and producers that major label artists are all too familiar with. Taking cues from 70s funk guitars, 80s electropop, 90s dance anthems and contemporary R&B the band seamlessly steps in and out of genre borders with their debut effort. It is a collection of bittersweet love songs presented in a myriad of ways, from the sugar coated title track ‘Love Electric’ to the venomous rock number ‘Strikeout’.
