“Inspired Youths” Letters Home 2009

This year, youths from all backgrounds share nuggets of their lives written on beautifully-designed aerogrammes by Douglas Paul Smith. The year 2009 has been a tough one. Yet, many rode through it with inspiring moments that have given them hope to move on. In this year’s edition of Letters Home, youths between the ages of eight and 18 write to special people in their lives. Their young eyes help us see that adults who have borne the brunt of 2009 have been an inspiration to them. In turn, their letters will make adults see themselves as everyday heroes who will be their role models for the future.

Letters Home also hopes to inspire people to go back to old fashioned writing. 600 written aerogrammes will be hung on the cones along Theatre Street. This will hopefully motivate people to go back to the beauty and intimacy of pen and paper letters.

The session will end with the traditional singing of Auld Lang Syne
